Welcome to Ritual Reads. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services, and by accessing, browsing, or placing orders with Ritual Reads, you accept these Terms in full.

1. Definitions
"We", "Us", "Our" means Ritual Reads. "You", "Your" means any customer or website visitor. "Products" means books, gift cards, and other items sold by Ritual Reads. "Website" means www.ritualreads.co.uk and its subdomains.
2. Use of Website
You agree not to misuse the Website or engage in any unlawful or prohibited activity.
You must be 16 or older to create an account or place orders online. Use by children under 16 requires parental consent.
3. Products and Availability
We strive to ensure product descriptions and images are accurate, but cannot guarantee exact matches. All products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
4. Prices and Payment
All prices are in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown at checkout.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time; orders already placed will be honored at the purchase price.
Accepted payment methods: major credit/debit cards, PayPal (processed securely by third-party providers; we do not store full card details).
5. Orders and Contract Formation
When you place an order, it is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to accept or decline orders (e.g., stock unavailability, suspected fraud).
6. Delivery
We deliver only to UK addresses unless otherwise stated. Any delivery times quoted are estimates, not guaranteed. Risk passes to you upon delivery.
7. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
Distance/Online Orders
If you buy online, you have 14 days from receipt to cancel, for any reason. Notify us within 14 days for a refund. Goods must be returned in their original condition. Refunds processed within 14 days of returned goods, including standard delivery.
Exceptions: No right to cancel for personalized/pre-ordered books or sealed goods (audiobooks, ebooks) once opened.
Faulty/Damaged Items
You may request a refund/replacement for faulty, damaged, or misdescribed items within 30 days. After 30 days (up to 6 months), repair/replacement is offered first, then a refund if not possible.
In-Store Purchases
No automatic right to return for non-faulty items bought in-store. Returns offered at our discretion, unless faulty.
Return Process
Contact us for instructions. We cover return postage for faulty goods. For a "change of mind," you bear the return costs.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our site (text, images, graphics) is owned by Ritual Reads or its licensors and protected by UK copyright/trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
9. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and passwords. We have the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse.
10. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ritual Reads will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits/data arising from use of our services.
11. Force Majeure
We may suspend/cancel orders due to events beyond our control (natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, supplier failures, etc.).
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by English law. Any disputes may be brought in English courts. For consumer complaints, you may consider alternative dispute resolution schemes.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our website constitutes acceptance of any new terms.
14. Severability
If any provision is declared invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
